Physna
Physna, short for “Physical DNA”, understands 3D objects in a manner much like actual DNA. By enabling a whole new category of computing applications, Physna saves time, money and most importantly lives by teaching computers to actually think in 3D for the first time in history.

Physna is short for "Physical DNA". Using a series of proprietary algorithms and AI (internationally patent-pending), it creates a Physical DNA (or “PNA”) code for all 3D properties and characteristics. It's the world's first software to fully understand and analyze all 3D models the same way, enabling computers to "think" in 3D and bridging the gap between the digital world and our 3D physical world.
This allows engineers, manufacturers, healthcare workers, safety inspectors and many others (nearly all now dependent on 3D data) to have the same tools we use every day for text or “in 2D”, such as search, auto-fill, version comparison, automated standard compliance and inspection (similar to “spell check” in text) in the programs they already use today.
The time saved in search alone using Physna’s automated 3D smart search amounts to average savings of $37,440 per user per year. Beyond saving time and money, Physna saves lives by preventing users from overlooking flaws that may be invisible or nearly invisible to their display or even to the naked eye. On average, Physna users are five times more productive than engineers without Physna. Physna finally enables designers and engineers to innovate at the speed of their imagination.

What Problem Are They Solving?
Although we live in a 3D world, there’s no universal way for software to “think" in 3D. This causes a long list of issues in many industries. Physna's priority is to start where many of these problems first originate by bridging this gap at the design and engineering level. Here's an overview of the precise problems Physna currently addresses:
- Engineers waste time building things they already have, and building similar models from scratch
- Each engineer wastes up to 624 hours per year searching for models manually
Source: Estimates by leading aerospace companies. Equates to an average loss
of $37,440/year/engineer.
- Average engineering costs 400% higher per part than they should be
Source: Thomas Redman, HBR.org. Average value per CAD model: $28,400
(Jon Peddie Research)
- Avoidable design errors lead to faulty parts
- Supply chains are inefficient – OEMs are unaware of which suppliers can make new parts, causing them to spend too much while suppliers lose sales. A large aerospace corporation told Physna that just by identifying the appropriate part quantities alone it would save $40 million per year.
