Established House and Startup of the Year at SXSW Cancelled

· SXSW,Startup of the Year

The cancellation is due to the circumstances surrounding the spread of the coronavirus. Like many other organizers, we feel a shared responsibility to do what we can to curb its spread and avoid putting others at risk.

Today we made the decision to prioritize the safety of our employees, partners, sponsors, founders, and attendees by cancelling this year’s events at the Established House of Startups & Innovation at South by Southwest (SXSW). And now it’s been confirmed that SXSW has also officially cancelled the festival.

It has been a difficult decision for many reasons as we unravel six months of great work by our team. We were so excited to celebrate our 10th year of bringing thousands of people together at our official Startup Night at SXSW.

Our Startup Night SXSW Pitch Competition was to include 16 startups from around the country represented by a diverse group of founders. While we are disappointed to miss them in person, we’re working on plans to produce a virtual event for these 16 startups to pitch for up to $10K in potential investment from Established Ventures, in addition to other prizes and a fast-track pass to our Startup of the Year Finals and Summit this fall. So, if you’re interested in our online event please sign up here, and we’ll be sharing the details soon.

And finally, a loud shout out to SXSW for creating a festival worth attending year in and year out. We look forward to many more festivals in the years to come!
